Adam Bruce

Adam Bruce is the co-founding Chairman of Friends of the Supergrid. He  is the former chairman of trade association of RenewableUK. He is the former UK Chief Executive of Airtricity. He was appointed Head of Sustainable Development at Scottish & Southern Energy following its acquisition of Airtricity, and was elected BWEA Chairman in April 2007.

Supply Chain Manager, The Crown Estate

Adrian is the supply chain manager for the marine estate group within The Crown Estate.  He has the responsibility for engaging with, facilitating and enabling the supply chains required to deliver technology and projects within the marine estate.  In the energy sector this encompasses  wave, tidal,  CCST and wind with a particular emphasis on Round 3.

 
Alejandro Ciruelos

Vice President, Project & Acquisition Finance-Energy, Santander

Alejandro joined Santander’s Project & Acquisition finance department in Madrid in January 2006 as part of the Global Energy practice of the bank. In 2008, Alejandro relocated to London in order to lead Santander’s Project & Acquisition Finance practice across Europe focusing in the financing of conventional power, regulated utilities and renewable energy transactions.

 
Allan Baker

Global Head of Power Project Finance, Société Générale

Allan has been involved in financing in the power sector for more than 20 years, initially as an engineer and then in finance sector. During his career he has advised on and financed projects in Europe, the US and Asia, and in sectors ranging from green-field renewable energy to acquisition of large power portfolios.

Based in our Zurich office, Charles Vaslet is a Partner with Emerald Technology Ventures and is focused on renewable energy, energy resources and energy conversion technology investments within the clean technology sector.

 
Chris Simpson

Executive Chairman, Proven Energy

Chris became involved with Proven Energy in 2007 and is the Chairman.
As a Price Waterhouse-trained chartered accountant, he has over 30 years of experience running major manufacturing and distribution companies in a variety of sectors, from high performance machinery, through packaging and consumer products to aquaculture. Several of his previous companies have traded globally through networks of foreign-based distributors.

 
Christine Brockwell

Director. Global Capital Finance

Christinel is a Director at Global Capital Finance with responsibility for the fiirm’s European renewable energy transactions and global equity syndication. Christine joined Global Capital Finance in 2006 and has led the company on several noteworthy transactions in the on- and offshore wind, solar and biomass sectors.

 
Damian Darragh

Managing Director, Terra Firma

Damian specialises in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on renewable power.
He has completed a wide range of deals at Terra Firma, including the sale of Waste Recycling Group, the spin-out and development of the Infinis renewable energy business, the acquisitions by Infinis of Summerleaze Re-Gen and Novera Plc, the refinancing of Phoenix Natural Gas and the acquisition of EverPower, the US wind energy business.

 
David Sharman

Managing Director, Ampair

David Sharman is managing director of the oldest UK wind turbine manufacturer Ampair. He serves on a number of small wind turbine committees including the international IEC and IEA committees; the USA NEC committee; and the UK committees of the MCS and the BWEA.


 
Dr. Chris Veal

Managing Director, Transmission Capital

Chris has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College and an MBA from the University of Warwick. He spent his early career with National Grid developing interconnector projects and several years with Airtricity most notably in bringing Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm project into construction and in promoting offshore grids.

 
Dr. Keith MacLean

Since completing graduate and postgraduate studies in Chemistry at Heriot-Watt and Hamburg Universities, Keith joined SSE in 1994 following a career in Germany and Scotland working in Research & Development and Business Management.

 
Dr. Stephanie Merry

Sector Advisor - Marine, Renewable Energy Association

Stephanie is Sector Advisor in marine renewables for the Renewable Energy Association (REA) in London. She is also Director of Focus Offshore Ltd, a technical consultancy specialising in marine renewable energy. Prior to setting up this company, she worked as Principal Engineer in the Submarine Hydrodynamics Group at QinetiQ, Haslar.

 
Etienne Pollard

Global Venture Capital, Good Energies

Etienne Pollard is a member of the Venture Capital team based in London. He focuses on investments in the smart grid/software, ecommerce, transportation and energy efficiency. Etienne supports portfolio companies and works on new deals throughout European and North America and is a board observer of Alertme.

 
Gert Rohrmann

UK Product Portfolio Manager, Siemens

Gert works in Security Solutions for the Siemens Building Technologies business in the UK. Gert's role over the past 20 years has been in the area of software and solutions integration. Gert is currently focused on the next generation of command and control technology that will add significant operational value to organisations by improving safety and security, managing critical situations, reducing costs and enhancing procedures.

 
Graham Brown

Managing Director, Burcote Wind

Graham is an experienced business manager and entrepreneur.  After many years of international experience with major chemical companies including ICI and WR Grace (USA), he set up Aims Group in 1993 which over 10 years developed into one of the UK's largest health and safety and compliance consultancies. Graham led the sale of the group to Alfred McAlpine in 2003.

 
Guy Madgwick

Country Director UK, Eneco Wind

Guy has been involved in the energy sector since 1984 working initially in the oil and gas industry as an exploration geologist for Amoco before joining the newly formed PowerGen in 1990.

 
James Donaldson

James leads the Investec Power Team in London which focuses on providing and arranging capital and funding for electricity generation and distribution, waste processing and related sectors in Europe. James’s recent projects have been in the wind, solar, biomass, landfill gas and waste sectors

 
Jamieson Thrower

Senior Director, RBS

Jamie joined the RBS Power Structured Finance team in November 2007 with a particular focus on the renewable energy sector.  Before joining RBS Jamie spent over three years in the Power Structured Finance team at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, having previously spent four years in the Project Finance Advisory team at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

 
Jason Pinto

Jason is an investment manager at Amadeus, where he is primarily focused on opportunities in the hardware and cleantech sectors. Julian heads up the Electricity Customer Services team which is responsible for all new and existing connections to the electricity Transmission networks across GB and Offshore. Julian joined National Grid in 1992 on the graduate scheme. He initially started in system operations in planning transmission access and generation scheduling at the National Control Centre.

 
Marc Beermann

Marc Beermann joined Ventizz in 2009 in its portfolio operations team. He is specialized in strategy as well as operations and advises Ventizz portfolio companies on their growth and performance improvement programs, mainly in the wind sector. He was previously employed with global strategy consultants Bain & Company, and with Hewlett-Packard Europe. Marc studied business and economics in St. Gallen and Geneva, and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Chicago)

Melchior Karigl

Melchior (born 1971) joined EIB in 2002 and has held positions inside and outside Europe. Since January 2007 he has been part of a new initiative by EIB to reinforce its activity in sectors of high policy priority for the EU – the New Products Department - in which the EIB seeks to develop innovative approaches. In this capacity he has a pan-European responsibility for structured lending transactions in the offshore wind sector.
